There IS a scenario that will make the U.S. dollar the most desired currency in the world, and the arguments for it are certainly sound. It calls for a massive economic meltdown, with bankruptcies happening far faster than the government can print money to save them. This takes liquidity (dollars) out of the system far faster then the government can print. Remember actually dollar bills are scarce, relatively speaking. The vast majority of dollars are computer entries, that can disappear as easily as they were created."
